Hacking
At Bidlake Stables we are fortunate to be located in the heart of West Dorset in the beautiful Marshwood Vale, famous for it’s rolling hills, beautiful valleys, secret holloways and amazing views at every turn.
We are spoilt for choice with our wonderful local hacks through the spectacular countryside that surrounds us and beautiful Symondsbury Estate. We can tailor the route to suit your ability and ensure you have a fabulous time exploring on horseback.

Lessons
We offer tuition for children from the age of five upwards and adults of any age and capability, with a qualified and experienced instructor. Lessons can range from learning the basics, getting back into the saddle or something more challenging to meet your needs
Our dedicated indoor teaching arena means your lesson is sheltered from the weather and that you won’t struggle to hear instructions. It’s great for spectators too!

During the Summer Holidays we offer ‘Pony Camp’ Days where the children can enjoy hands on experience of whats involved in having your own pony and fun and games involved too!

To reach us from Bridport, take the B3162 North from the town heading towards the village of Salwayash. You will climb up a long gradual hill from Bridport. About 1.5 miles from the town, as you reach the small hamlet of Dottery, there is a crossroads where you want to turn left towards the village of Broadoak. The entrance for Bidlake Farm, where the stables are located, is 1 mile down this road on the right hand side, shortly after you pass the left hand turn for Atrim Lane.
At the top of the farm track turn right into the farm entrance.

FANCY A BITE TO EAT
If you’re coming riding at Bidlake and you fancy a bite to eat, before or after your ride or whilst you are waiting for others, we really can’t recommend Symondsbury Kitchen enough. Beautiful food in the wonderful surroundings of the Manor Yard in the picturesque village of Symondsbury, just a few minutes away by car.
The menu is varied, it includes gluten free and vegetarian options as well as daily specials using seasonal ingredients.
Most of the food is locally sourced and the Estate vegetable garden provides herbs, salads & vegetables throughout the year.
Open every day, the Café serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.
